Trans* Success

Matthew from Topeka, KS transitioned at the age of 34 and is a father of two, both of whom live with their biological father.  Matt was featured in the documentary on transgender parents and says:

There were times when I was pregnant that were okay, and I really liked it…It was mostly misery and horrible, but there were times at night when I would lay down, everything would go away. Because what happens when you lay down at night after walking around and being rocked all day, the baby will wake up from the lack of the sensation of being rocked all the time. So, the baby wakes up and starts moving around, and it was just when the baby would start moving around, everything else would go away, and I knew I had this great little person inside of me, and I could feel the elbows and feet, and it was really cool.
